Seen Mary

Mary is all around us. She is in our neighborhood, our workplace, our church, and perhaps even in our own home. She needs our love and understanding, our encouragement and affirmation, our prayers.

Mary is every woman. Reach out to her, and you will find yourself in the presence of the Son!

  • She’s the unmarried, pregnant girl who lives just down the street. Matthew 1:18
  • She’s the normal-looking girl next door, filled with a sacred trust. Matthew 1:21
  • She’s the perplexed teenager, fully aware no one’s going to believe her story. Luke 1:28-34
  • She’s the young girl who is refreshingly submitted to God’s will. Luke 1:38
  • She’s the one who believes before she sees because she believes God. Luke 1:45
  • She’s the mother-to-be who needs a friend. Luke 1:39, 40
  • She’s the worshipper who praises God out of the fullness of her heart. Luke 1:46-55
  • She’s the unfortunate woman who delivers her baby in a barn. Luke 2:6, 7
  • She’s the chosen woman who brings God into our midst. Matthew 1:23
  • She’s a new mother, wonderstruck by her child and the fantastic baby shower gifts. Matthew 2:11
  • She’s a listening woman, full of thoughts and feelings as people talk about her and her newborn. Luke 2:16-19
  • She’s the hope-filled mother who brings her baby to the child dedication service. Luke 2:22
  • She’s the wondering woman, deeply affected by the future path of her child. Luke 2:33-35
  • She’s the homeless woman, fleeing for her baby’s sake. Matthew 2:13, 14
  • She’s the housewife doing her best to raise her boy in a rough town. Matthew 2:23; John 1:46
  • She’s the frantic mother in the mall, looking everywhere for her lost child. Luke 2:43-48
  • She’s the woman who cannot understand her son. Luke 2:48
  • She’s the proud mom whose son does amazing things. John 2:3-5

She’s the broken-hearted mother, watching her child suffer and die. John 19:25-27
