My question: God, I love You with all of my heart, all of the time. You are the most precious, the most valuable thing to me. But, may I ask You something, Lord? Why did You allow those people to hurt me? If You love me so much, why didn’t You protect me from them?
And God said to me:
Child of mine, it wasn’t me who allowed them to hurt you. It was their evil thoughts and their choice and devotion to doing wrong that hurt you. Child, it was not I! It was me who held you tight when you cried yourself to sleep, even in the darkest hour. It was me who wiped your tears as you lay there in pain from their acts of evil. Child, I laid my life down for you so you can again be with me and be loved like you deserve to be loved.
I am lord of everything. The evil in this world is not of my doing, it is not from me. Evil was never part of my plan for you. But, I will protect you with my Word and guide you into all righteousness. Learn of me and teach of me to others, and I will prosper you. Evil will never get a stronghold on you beyond my reach. I am with you always, even until the end, my dear child. In my hands you will be called blessed, and in my care, you will prosper. Listen to me child, do what I say, practice what I have told you in my Word. Pray without ceasing and do good to everyone. And when the whole world turns their back on you child, I will be there. When you feel lost and alone, I will be there. When you are hurt and in pain, I will be there. Talk to me child of mine. I am here!
What a stack of blessing you have piled up
for those who worship you,
Ready and waiting for all who run to you
to escape an unkind world.
You hide them safely away
from the opposition.
As you slam the door on those oily, mocking faces,
you silence the poisonous gossip.
His love is the wonder of the world.
Trapped by a siege, I panicked.
“Out of sight, out of mind,” I said.
But you heard me say it,
you heard and listened.
